News: Samoa House talanoa

Albert L. Refiti was part of a talanoa on the history of Samoa House — the first fale built outside of Sāmoa — and Pacific architectural practice.

Alongside Albert were Dr. Karamia Müller (Lecturer in the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries, Architecture and Planning at the University of Auckland), and Elisapeta Heta (Kaihautū Whaihanga – Māori Design Leader at Jasmax), and facilitator Leone Samu Tui (Associate Curator, Documentary and Heritage (Pacific Collections), at the Auckland War Memorial Meseum).

The talanoa was presented in collaboration between Samoa House Library and Gus Fisher Gallery on the occasion of Creation Stories, a collaborative project by Müller and Simon Denny, exhibiting between Gus Fisher Gallery and Michael Lett.
